Bounce Safe with AW Inflatables
Serious About Safety. Serious About Fun. 🎈
At AW Inflatables, we believe a great event starts with a safe setup.
We've been providing professional inflatable hire since 2010, and safety remains at the heart of how we deliver, install and operate our equipment.
We're proud to promote the #BounceSafe message and encourage parents, schools, venues and event organisers to follow simple inflatable safety rules.
Because when everyone understands the rules:
Everyone can concentrate on having fun.
Safety Starts Before the First Bounce
Inflatable safety doesn't begin when children start playing.
It begins with choosing appropriate equipment, checking the venue, assessing the setup area and installing the inflatable correctly.
Our team considers factors including:
✓ Equipment suitability
✓ Available space
✓ Ground conditions
✓ Correct anchoring
✓ Access
✓ Weather conditions
✓ Wind speeds and gusts
✓ Electrical supply
✓ Safety areas
✓ Equipment condition
If we don't believe an inflatable can be installed safely, we won't install it.
Professionally Installed Inflatable Hire
Every inflatable should be correctly positioned and securely anchored before use.
Our team is experienced in the safe installation and operation of inflatable equipment and follows appropriate industry guidance and equipment requirements.
Depending on the equipment and location, installation may include:
• Appropriate anchoring
• Safety mats
• Correct blower positioning
• Electrical cable positioning
• Safe entrances and exits
• Required clearance around the inflatable
• Pre-use visual checks
Never move or alter an inflatable after our team has installed it.
If you have a concern about the setup, contact us.
Professionally Inspected Equipment
Our equipment is subject to appropriate inspection, testing and maintenance.
Depending on the individual item and applicable requirements, this may include recognised industry inspection and testing routes and relevant standards for inflatable play equipment.
We also carry out appropriate checks as part of our normal hire and maintenance procedures.
If we identify a problem that could affect safe operation, the equipment should not remain in service until the issue has been appropriately addressed.
£10 Million Public Liability Insurance
AW Inflatables carries:
£10 MILLION PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
This forms part of our professional approach to inflatable and event hire.
Schools, venues, businesses and event organisers can also request relevant safety documentation for their booking where applicable.
Trained & Professional Team
Our approach to safety includes:
✓ RPII Operator Training
✓ DBS-Checked Team
✓ Equipment-Specific Setup Procedures
✓ Safe Anchoring Procedures
✓ Pre-Use Checks
✓ Weather Monitoring
✓ Professional Event Support
✓ Risk Assessments & Safety Documentation
For larger events, we can also provide staffed attractions, crowd-control equipment, queue management, generators, lighting and additional event support where required.
The #BounceSafe Rules
Everyone using an inflatable should follow the safety instructions provided for the equipment.
Here are some of the most important rules:
👀 1. Always Have Responsible Adult Supervision
Inflatables must be appropriately supervised while in use.
The responsible adult should remain attentive and be able to intervene when unsafe behaviour occurs.
An operating inflatable should never simply be left unattended.
👶 2. Separate Users by Size & Ability
Where appropriate, avoid allowing significantly larger and smaller users to bounce together.
A small child can easily be knocked over by an older or larger user.
Organising users into suitable groups helps reduce collisions and injuries.
👟 3. Remove Shoes & Unsafe Objects
Before entering the inflatable, users should remove:
❌ Shoes
❌ Sharp objects
❌ Keys
❌ Hard or dangerous toys
❌ Loose items that could cause injury
Glasses should be removed where safe and practical.
Check pockets before bouncing.
👥 4. Don't Overcrowd the Inflatable
Every inflatable has limits on how it should be used.
Do not allow excessive numbers of users onto the equipment at once.
Overcrowding increases the likelihood of:
• Collisions
• Falls
• Users landing on each other
• Unsafe bouncing
Follow the instructions provided for the individual inflatable.
🤸 5. No Flips or Rough Play
Inflatables are designed for fun — not wrestling or gymnastics.
Users must not:
❌ Perform flips or somersaults
❌ Wrestle
❌ Push other users
❌ Deliberately bounce into others
❌ Dive onto the inflatable
❌ Behave aggressively
If somebody repeatedly ignores the rules, they should be removed from the inflatable.
🧗 6. Never Climb on Inflatable Walls
Users must not climb, sit or hang on:
• Inflatable walls
• Safety netting
• Roof sections
• Arches
• External parts of the inflatable
These areas are not designed for climbing.
🚪 7. Keep Entrances & Exits Clear
The entrance should remain clear so users can safely enter and leave.
Do not allow children to:
❌ Sit on the entrance
❌ Bounce on the entrance step
❌ Block other users
❌ Play around the blower
❌ Climb underneath inflatable sections
The entrance apron or step is for entering and exiting, not as an additional bouncing area.
🍔 8. No Food, Drinks or Chewing Gum
Food and drinks should be kept away from inflatable equipment.
Users should not enter with:
❌ Food
❌ Drinks
❌ Sweets
❌ Chewing gum
Aside from creating mess and potential equipment damage, these can also create avoidable safety hazards.
🎨 9. Keep Prohibited Substances Away
Please keep the following away from our equipment:
❌ Face Paint
❌ Glitter
❌ Slime
❌ Silly String
❌ Confetti
❌ Party Poppers
❌ Pens & Crayons
❌ Water Pistols
❌ Garden Hoses
❌ Sprinklers
These products can stain, damage or contaminate inflatable equipment.
Additional cleaning or damage charges may apply where appropriate.
💧 10. Do Not Add Water
Unless the equipment has specifically been supplied and authorised for water use:
DO NOT PUT WATER ON AN INFLATABLE.
Standard inflatables must not be turned into homemade water slides.
Water can make surfaces extremely slippery and may also cause equipment, cleaning and drying problems.
A £100 cleaning and drying charge may apply where standard equipment has been deliberately made wet.
💨 11. Monitor the Weather
Outdoor inflatable safety depends heavily on weather conditions.
Inflatables must not be operated where wind speeds or gusts exceed 24mph.
Some equipment or locations may require use to stop at a lower wind speed.
Weather conditions should continue to be monitored throughout the hire.
If conditions become unsafe:
STOP USE.
REMOVE ALL USERS.
PREVENT FURTHER ACCESS.
CONTACT AW INFLATABLES IF NECESSARY.
🌧️ 12. Stop During Unsafe Weather
Strong wind isn't the only weather risk.
Use should also stop where conditions such as:
⛈️ Thunderstorms
⚡ Lightning
🌧️ Heavy Rain
💨 Unsafe Gusts
🌊 Flooding
create an unsafe environment.
Never continue using an inflatable simply because the event has already started.
🔌 13. Keep Away From the Blower
Children and guests should not interfere with:
• Blowers
• Electrical cables
• Plugs
• Inflation tubes
• Generators
• Electrical connections
If an inflatable begins to lose pressure, remove users immediately and contact our team.
Do not attempt to dismantle, modify or repair our electrical equipment.
⚓ 14. Never Remove or Alter Anchoring
Anchoring is a critical part of inflatable safety.
Customers and guests must never:
❌ Remove stakes
❌ Move anchors
❌ Disconnect anchoring
❌ Move the inflatable
❌ Reposition equipment
❌ Alter the installation
If something appears wrong, stop use and contact us.
🚭 15. No Smoking, Vaping or Flames
Keep smoking, vaping and sources of heat or flame away from inflatable equipment.
This includes:
❌ Cigarettes
❌ Vapes
❌ BBQs
❌ Fire Pits
❌ Patio Heaters
❌ Candles
❌ Fireworks
Inflatable equipment must be kept safely away from heat and ignition sources.
🐕 16. No Pets on the Equipment
Pets must not be allowed onto inflatable equipment.
Claws can damage inflatable material, and animals can also introduce dirt and contamination.
Please keep pets safely away from the equipment and blower area.
What Should I Do If Something Doesn't Look Right?
If you're ever concerned about an inflatable:
Stop Using It.
Remove users safely and prevent anybody from re-entering.
Then contact AW Inflatables.
Do not continue using equipment if you believe something may be unsafe.
Safety Decisions Are Final
Occasionally, our team may have to make a decision that disappoints a customer.
We may need to:
• Refuse an unsuitable setup area
• Change the inflatable position
• Refuse installation
• Stop use because of wind
• Stop use because of weather
• Refuse unsafe operation
• Remove equipment from service
These decisions are made to protect users, customers, venues, our staff and the public.
We will never compromise safety simply to complete a hire.
